Job Purpose: 


To lead the development and implementation of Lane Crawford’s internal communications to help inform, listen to, engage and inspire our people about the company’s plans and activities. This role will also help sustain the current cultural transformation process by helping embed the newly created Leadership Code, upholding its values and related people behaviours.


Key Accountabilities:

In addition to following Lane Crawford’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:


Internal Communications and Engagement Planning

  • Lead and own the development of a comprehensive internal communications strategy to support the delivery of Lane Crawford’s 2020 Plan
  • Develop an annual internal communications plan, prioritising key strategic projects and creating listening opportunities by working with the senior leadership team and the various team heads
  • Develop a BAU plan for regular communication to the business, both planned and ad-hoc, that creates a trusted, well-read/viewed platform for updates and calls to action
  • Plan individual events (digital, physical and hybrid) ensuring they come to life in a way that is brand right and are consistent across functions, locations, and communication platforms
  • Review internal communications tools and systems and bring clarity as to which tools should be used for what messages so staff can use these consistently, delivering a channel strategy for the business
  • Provide counsel to the senior leadership team on ways to use innovative and modern communications and experiences to best achieve internal communications and business objectives
  • Provide direct support to the President to ensure his communication is timely, effective and on-message
  • Close involvement with Group-level employee initiatives that will have an impact on Lane Crawford employees


Implementation and Management of Internal Communications

  • Implement and manage the internal communications plans and strategies, both directly and through effective management of the Assistant Manager / Senior Executive
  • Use and monitor communications channels to ensure all internal communications effectively reach and engage target audiences
  • Build community, share successes and contribute to employee engagement ad well as culture-building efforts
  • Support the implementation of specific internal projects to ensure they are well communicated to engage stakeholders fully
  • Ensure external seasonal brand themes are leveraged internally to build awareness and interest
  • Deliver high-quality, energetic and lively work; showing empathy, consideration and understanding of various viewpoints to support Lane Crawford’s diverse business
  • Develop measurement approaches to track effectiveness of communications in maximising focus and engagement on the company’s strategy
